In case you did not know, as part of the relief plan, Illinois will be having a tax holiday for 10 days from August 5 - August 14, 2022 for many school items & supplies. According to sources, the state sales tax will be lowered by 5% from 6.25% to 1.25% [plus local sales tax, which will remain the same].

The reduction will include qualifying clothing and footwear with a retail selling price of less than $125 per item and certain school supplies used by students in the course of study. School supplies are not subject to the $125 threshold.

To see what the "qualifying" items were, I found this list at Illinois.gov, which is part of the guidance given to retail stores. If you wish to see this graphic larger, click on it and it will open in a new tab:

If you have not yet shopped for your back-to-school supplies and items, you may consider shopping during those 10 days. If you need our Orangeville School District supply list again, it can be found here: https://5il.co/1ckxq  Supplies for high school students depend on what classes they are taking, but business and math are listed on the final page of the list. We also recommend a notebook & folder for each academic class, plus pens/pencils.
