In case you did not know, as part of the relief plan, Illinois will be having a tax holiday for 10 days from August 5 - August 14, 2022 for many school items & supplies. According to sources, the state sales tax will be lowered by 5% from 6.25% to 1.25% [plus local sales tax, which will remain the same].

The reduction will include qualifying clothing and footwear with a retail selling price of less than $125 per item and certain school supplies used by students in the course of study. School supplies are not subject to the $125 threshold.

To see what the "qualifying" items were, I found this list at, which is part of the guidance given to retail stores. If you wish to see this graphic larger, click on it and it will open in a new tab:

If you have not yet shopped for your back-to-school supplies and items, you may consider shopping during those 10 days. If you need our Orangeville School District supply list again, it can be found here:  Supplies for high school students depend on what classes they are taking, but business and math are listed on the final page of the list. We also recommend a notebook & folder for each academic class, plus pens/pencils.
