Graduation will take place tomorrow evening on the football field. The ceremony begins at 6:30, and the field spaces have already been reserved for grad's families. We do have limited space on the bleachers and also room along the field for others, but bringing lawn chairs is suggested. ALSO, we must collect name/address/phone for anyone attending, so if you would like to save time when entering the gate, write this information down ahead of time & hand it in when you get there. Please bring masks for when social distancing cannot be preserved. For those who cannot attend, we do plan to post video of the ceremony this weekend.

After considering a number of things, such as enrollment, future class sizes, & participation data, the athletic dept. determined it would not be possible to provide a true 11-man football program (gr 9-12) in the future at Orangeville with our current standing. There were two options available for consideration going forward. The following informational presentation goes over what was considered & the recommendation by the athletic dept. https://youtu.be/y4FdbIBV1p0 On Monday June 8th the Orangeville Board of Education voted to move our football program to 8-man beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.

Sharing this on behalf of the PTO: Teacher Appreciation week is the week of May 4 – 8th. It would be great if students would take time in the next couple weeks to send their teachers hand-written notes or cards. This school closure is just as difficult for them as it is for the students & parents. Also, PTO would like to put together a video for the teachers in district from the students, and they need parental help. If you could snap a picture of your kid(s) holding a thank you sign of some sort, OR record a short video thanking their teacher(s), it would make our video super touching for the teachers. The pictures and videos can be emailed to the PTO's email address: OrangevillePTO@gmail.com. Deadline for the media submission is Friday May 1st.

Two Janecke family members on staff means double pictures! When it's not hockey season, they love to be outside. Other than schoolwork, here they are after building a new deer stand, at a planned burn of invasive brush, and of course, tossing around the ball!
