This Tuesday, Oct. 1, the JH football game vs. South Beloit has been moved up to 5:00 due to having no lights on the field. We are looking for 3 people to help with the chains. Attention junior and senior families: Next Thursday, Oct. 3, OHS will host two meetings you may be interested in! At 5:30 in the cafeteria, Highland Community College will be there to speak with those who may wish to attend HCC after graduation. Following at 6:00 there will be an informational meeting regarding the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). Hope to see you there!

This year Orangeville Elementary will be going LIVE! Each morning, Bronco News will now stream announcements to all classrooms for kids to see. As we work through this technological upgrade, we will be working to include students from various grades. Featured this week are three Teacher Assistants from OHS and one special 1st grader, Piper Rafferty who won the opportunity through classroom incentives to star on the news.

Our friends at FSD #145 would like to invite all surrounding community members to their annual Community Resource and Wellness Fair to support Mental Health Awareness, on Monday Sept. 30th. They are having a carnival theme, and the fair includes activities for the children and a guest speaker from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, along with community partners with tables to provide handouts and additional information pertaining to resources from their organizations. IL Gov. Pritzker has enacted a new agency, the Illinois Division of Early Childhood (IDEC). The goal of the new agency is to streamline access to services for families, reduce duplication, and to eliminate barriers for families and service providers. The IDEC is slated to be fully operational in FY27, but is currently in the discovery and development phase. As part of that process, the Governor has selected a team of people to serve as part of the Transition Advisory Committee (TAC). The TAC team has asked the Regional Offices of Education and the Birth to Five groups who have the same service area to collaborate and hold listening sessions in our service area to assure that we are gathering the voices and true needs and experiences of all families. Please see the flier containing a QR code that individuals interested in joining one of the two virtual sessions can use to register.
