Sharing this on behalf of the PTO: Teacher Appreciation week is the week of May 4 – 8th. It would be great if students would take time in the next couple weeks to send their teachers hand-written notes or cards. This school closure is just as difficult for them as it is for the students & parents. Also, PTO would like to put together a video for the teachers in district from the students, and they need parental help. If you could snap a picture of your kid(s) holding a thank you sign of some sort, OR record a short video thanking their teacher(s), it would make our video super touching for the teachers. The pictures and videos can be emailed to the PTO's email address: OrangevillePTO@gmail.com. Deadline for the media submission is Friday May 1st.

Happy Friday! Today we highlight Mrs. Campbell. She likes to play fetch with Gretchen (see pic), and take her three dogs on long walks on the trail. She has also been reading, planning her summer garden and hoping that warmer weather returns soon!

Ms Raizel sent this pic to me (source unknown) to share with you, because it sums up how all of our teachers feel. Have a great Thursday! We miss you!

Today's picture is brought to you by Mrs. Shellhause. While she is busy with schoolwork, she and her daughter have enjoyed baking cookies from the softball fundraiser and taking naps in the window.

Because the Jostens informational mailing has yet to go out, here is a link to order online if you are interested in purchasing the Orangeville Jr-Sr High 2019-20 yearbook: http://jostensyearbooks.com/?REF=A01904300 [Information regarding the elementary yearbook will come later.]

Happy Earth Day! I hope you can enjoy being outdoors today. The spotlight today is Mrs. McDivitt. She is super busy teaching HS math for us & helping her daughters with their work, but they like to take a walk by the lake every day if they can!

This morning the IHSA board met and decided to cancel state tournaments for spring sports, and also suspend summer contact days until state government & medical leaders indicate such gatherings are safe. If you wish to read the IHSA article, see: https://www.ihsa.org/default.asp

Today's adorable spotlight is Miss Kristi, one of our wonderful paras! She was on maternity leave before we closed, so her time has been taken by a lot of baby snuggles! They have also been doing homework & playing fun games.

Notice of Amended Budget Hearing is posted on the website and linked here https://5il.co/fe6e

Happy Sunny Monday! Today we spotlight Mrs. Wells. In addition to getting schoolwork ready for her 2nd graders, Mrs. Wells and her daughter have been busy coloring, going for walks, and playing outside. Fun on a beautiful day like today!

Good Monday Morning! I have placed two bins in the lobby for students to return their library books, if they are done with them. Hope you all are well and remember to READ, READ, READ!

This afternoon, IL Gov. Pritzker announced the closure of in-person schooling for the remainder of this school year in Illinois, though we will continue remote learning. As more information becomes available, we will send it out to our families. Have a good weekend and stay safe.

Can you believe we have been out of school a month already?! Today's pic is guidance counselor Mr. Moore, who is ready for anything! He helps his 2 daughters keep busy as well as doing work here at school & home. We also give a shout-out to his wife, who is a doctor. #ThankYou

Mr. Janecke wanted us to share this article about retired teachers helping while students are at-home learning.

Today's picture is from grade school secretary Miss Jen. She is enjoying spending time with her son, helping him with homework and playing games.

Congratulations to Christian MacKenzie on signing his letter of intent to play baseball for Trinity International University! #Seniors2020

Today we spotlight Mr. & Mrs. Scheuerell. In addition to both teaching our O'ville students, they have four little ones at home to do homework with and keep busy. Here they are on a well-deserved break at the lake.

Today's pics are from Mrs. Kraft. Top left is the family playing ball, the others are from Mrs Kraft's daughter Anicka's 12th birthday on 4/10. Alber Towing surprised her by driving & honking through the neighborhood. They even stopped at their house to sing her happy birthday!

Here I am with my blooming African Violet to remind everyone that this Monday, April 13th, is a "NO SCHOOL" day as we are still following the original calendar. The school building & office will be closed as well. Have a safe & happy weekend.

Today's photo is from (silly!) Ms. Raizel. Other than making fun learning packets for the PK kids, she and her husband take daily walks in their neighborhood.
