These past two weeks, OHS alum Tessa Janecke (https://twitter.com/usahockey/status/1778602361881006395) and Team USA have been competing in the IIHF Women's World Championship in Utica, New York. They dominated in Group A to advance to the quarterfinal, then the semifinal. Their win today means they move on to face Canada in the gold medal match tomorrow (4/14/24). If you have the NHL network, you can watch the game live in the afternoon. Check out the articles from the entire week on the IIHF website: https://www.iihf.com/en/events/2024/ww

Now that the US eclipse fun is over, you might have heard that Latin America will experience an eclipse this fall, so there are places collecting eclipse glasses to give to school children there. If you have eclipse glasses in good shape that you don't want to keep, please consider donating them. Please send them in to school, by next Thursday, the 18th, and we will package and send them to the donation center. Thank you!

Good afternoon Orangeville families, In response to recent events regarding the viewing of the solar eclipse on Monday, April 8, Orangeville has made the decision to have students safely view the event on a link that will be sent out to teachers to view in classrooms. The exception to the remote viewing will be Mrs. Brown’s 4th grade class due to a unit of study in relation to this solar event. Permission slips will be required for the 4th grade students to view the event with approved solar eclipse safety glasses. Thank you for your cooperation on this matter. Mrs. Katzenberger, Superintendent
