Our custodial staff is currently cleaning the boys locker room and have discovered more items left behind. These items are on the training table and another table on the sports side. They will be left for pick up until the end of football camp next week. After that, items will either be donated or thrown away.

This is a reminder that all athletes planning on playing JH and HS sports this year need a sports physical before they can participate (6 and 9 graders need FULL regular physicals and those will count for sports as well). The football and volleyball season begins August 11th.

Our JH/HS science teacher, Mr. Fahs, visited Mrs. Goeke's class this spring, and he brought his lovely ball python Nagini with him! He shared common misconceptions and myths about snakes, answered questions about her, and the students even got to touch her. (She's very friendly!)

In May, Mrs. Brown's class went to Lake Le-Aqua-Na, where they were able to fish, hike, paint, make a tracking book, play kickball, and make s'mores. We have some nature lovers here! Big thanks to those who helped: Mrs. Kraft, Mrs. Schultz, Mr. Wilson, and Mr. Schneiderman.

Mrs. Goeke's class went on a field trip to the Cave of the Mounds in May. There they toured the cave, learned about rocks and minerals, then got to go sluicing for their own rocks, minerals, and fossils. Back at school, they took geodes outside to crack them open and see if there were pretty crystals inside. What a fun trip!

In April, CHOM (the Children’s Hands On Museum in Freeport), brought the Star Lab to the elementary school to teach us about space. The students really enjoyed the experience - Check out the views from inside! A thank you goes out to the PTO, who sponsored this event.

This is a reminder that we are hosting FHN at the school for sports physicals tomorrow (6/24/25) evening from 5 - 7 pm. If your child is planning to play a sport this year, this physical will fill the requirement. However, students going into grades 6 and 9 will need full physicals and this does not count for that requirement. Though parents are not required to be present for the exam, forms must be signed by a parent ahead of time. Those forms can be found on the FHN website: https://www.fhn.org/sports-physicals-area.asp and will also be available at the school offices.
