Mrs. Lorig's 1st gr. did a STEM challenge in which they had to design an umbrella that could stand up to wind, then had a contest to see who could be the last one standing! They then revised the design and tried a second time. Everyone had fun being an inventor for the day.



Our Orangeville School District Spelling Bee takes place on Tuesday afternoon. But did you know that the Regional Bee takes place at Highland Community College on February 11th? The winner of the Regional event then goes on to the Scripps National Spelling Bee, which is in its historic 100th anniversary year! This is a reminder that Orangeville School District has a scheduled Teacher Institute Day tomorrow, Friday, Jan. 17, 2025, so there is no student attendance. Monday, Jan. 20, 2025, there is also no school due to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday. Enjoy your long weekend!


The HS boys' basketball team will be holding a free throw shoot-a-thon fundraiser this month. The actual event will take place Jan. 21st, but if you would like to contribute a pledge (either per free throw, or as a flat amount) please contact your favorite player, or Coach Fahs.

This evening's (1/14) scheduled JH girls' basketball game at Shirland has been cancelled as a result of low numbers on the opposing team due to sickness. Unfortunately, this game will not be rescheduled. Please share with those who were planning to attend.


This is a reminder that next Tuesday, 1/21, CareerTec will be holding an information night from 6 - 7 pm in the OHS cafeteria for high school parents and students interested. This is especially helpful for those currently in 10th or 11t grade.


Good morning! There is a change to tomorrow's (1/14) home HS girls' basketball game against Forreston. Instead of a 5:30 JV start, the varsity game will begin at 6:00 pm, and a two-quarter JV game will follow. Please share with those who may be coming to the game.


The junior class is selling Springbrook Cheese today through January 27th. They have 2 lb. blocks of Swiss, cheddar, colby, brick, muenster, co-jack, pepper jack, or baby Swiss, or 1/2 lbs. of limburger, for $10 each. Please see your favorite junior, or contact Mrs. MacKenzie or Ms. Salamon to order.


A reminder about the elementary cheer camp taking place at the end of the month: Registration forms were handed out prior to winter break and are due this Thursday, Jan. 16. If you did not get a form and would like one, please contact the elementary office.

Today is the girls' basketball Bronco JV Jamboree! We will be hosting five teams plus Orangeville for a day of JV basketball! Admission is $5, or $4 for seniors. Schedule is approximate, as games will begin 10 minutes after the previous game ends. Come out and cheer them on!


Along with the first snow of the winter season came sliding, building snowmen, and lots of fun in the snow at recess for the third grade!
